Representational Mental States

In this PhD representational mental states were identified by injecting noise into the input or output layers and measuring the mutual information that was shared between input/ output neurons and neurons in the internal layers. A definition of mental and representational mental states is given in Chapter 4, Section 4.3. The details of the procedure and a summary of the results are given in Chapter 7, Section 7.3.
